
The total amount received by the Viet Nam Red Cross Society in support of the Cuban people has reached VND 656.7 billion. Of this sum, nearly VND 385 billion was transferred in the first handover, and more than VND 272 billion in the second transfer. This is the result of the fundraising campaign themed “65 Years of Viet Nam – Cuba Solidarity”, a meaningful humanitarian initiative that continues the long-standing and faithful solidarity between the two nations.
The campaign generated strong and widespread support from cadres, Party members, civil servants, public employees, officers and soldiers of the armed forces, students, workers across various sectors, and especially from the general public, reflecting the steadfast affection and sense of responsibility of the Vietnamese people toward their Cuban friends in times of hardship.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung; Nguyen Phi Long, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and mass organizations; and Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society, presented the symbolic handover to the leaders of the Republic of Cuba.
Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa, on behalf of the Party, State, and people of Cuba, received the heartfelt gift from Viet Nam, expressing profound appreciation for the unwavering solidarity that the Vietnamese people have continued to extend to Cuba during this challenging period.
