Opening the meeting, Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Viet Nam Red Cross Society, highlighted that the Conference was held in the lead-up to the 14th National Party Congress and at a pivotal moment for the National Society, as preparations for Red Cross congresses, term 2026 – 2031 at all levels and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam Red Cross.

Despite significant challenges in 2025, including natural disasters, climate change impacts and administrative restructuring, the VNRC continued to play its core role in humanitarian coordination and emergency response, guided by the principle of “a warm heart, a clear mind and decisive action.” The Conference reviewed major reports and plans, including the 2025 performance report, inspection outcomes, and action plans for 2026, alongside key initiatives such as the Month of Humanity, Tet of Humanity campaigns, emulation movements, and preparations for the 12th National Congress of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society.

Discussions emphasized the need to strengthen grassroots engagement, improve operational efficiency, enhance staff capacity, and promote transparency and digital transformation. Delegates agreed that humanitarian activities must be people-centred, focused on real needs, sustainable impact and measurable results, rather than formality or scale alone.

The Conference also addressed organizational and personnel matters, consolidated leadership positions for the 2022–2027 term, and recognized outstanding provincial Red Cross chapters for their achievements in 2025.

Concluding the meeting, the Central Committee unanimously adopted the Conference Resolution, affirming five priority directions for 2026: proactive and sustainable humanitarian action, focused and impactful interventions, capacity-building for grassroots staff, transparency and accountability, and thorough preparation for Red Cross congresses at all levels. These priorities aim to further strengthen the role and credibility of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society in national humanitarian and social protection efforts.
