The workshop aimed to strengthen the knowledge and capacity of the Red Cross members in applying safety tools, principles, and standards in humanitarian work. Twenty-one members attended the training, representing various areas such as voluntary blood donation encouragement, the youth – volunteers, human resources, communications, and disaster management from provincial and municipal Red Cross societies.
Throughout the program, the participants were thoroughly introduced to the contents of the Safer Access Framework and Code of Conduct. They also took part in group discussions and case studies to clearly understand how to apply these guidelines in different situations of the Red Cross societies.

By having a better grasp on the Safer Access Framework, the Red Cross members can better identify barriers, risks, and challenges that might affect operations, security, and access to individuals and communities; hence, contributing to more effective, safer, and more sustainable activities.
Moreover, training on the Code of Conduct helps the members clearly identify the principles, standards, and behaviors that they need to follow while working. Adhering responsibly to the Code not only fosters a healthy and safe working environment but also upholds the image, principles, and core values of the VNRC.
