Mr. Pham Cong Thuat, Head of Administration of PREP Technology Joint Stock Company, said that the historic storm affecting the Central and Central Highlands regions caused serious losses in both lives and property. Responding to the appeal of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the company where he works made its contribution to show its responsibility to the community. He also expressed his hope that the Society would convey the heartfelt sentiments of the company’s members to families and people currently facing hardships.

Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, expressed her deep appreciation and sincere gratitude for the trust, companionship, and heartfelt support that organizations, collectives, and individuals have extended to the Society’s humanitarian activities.
She emphasized that in the context of increasingly complicated disasters, the Vietnam Red Cross Society always maintains a spirit of “readiness to respond,” proactively and promptly carrying out humanitarian support activities to ensure that assistance reaches people in difficult areas effectively and on time.

President Do Thi Thu Thao affirmed: “Our operating principle is to ensure the principle of “the right place, the right people, and sufficient support”, while guaranteeing transparency, appearing at the right time, and meeting the real needs of the people”.
She said that relief work is being implemented in two directions: Emergency assistance immediately after disasters and post-flood recovery and reconstruction – a sustainable approach. Recovery activities include building and repairing houses, supporting livelihoods, and assisting children to return to school…

Assessing the current situation, Ms. Thao noted: “Basic food needs in the areas have now been partly met. Therefore, we call for continued joint support, aiming at other essential supplies such as blankets, bedding, medicines, and school materials for students, especially financial resources to help restore livelihoods for people”.
She added that the Vietnam Red Cross Society is actively coordinating with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to mobilize additional resources for post-disaster recovery activities. Ms. Thao affirmed that the position of the Vietnam Red Cross Society is not only a place to receive assistance but also a place to provide support. Many international humanitarian activities, including aid provided to the people of Cuba and other countries, clearly demonstrate the humanitarian spirit and the high sense of international responsibility of the Vietnamese people.
