On the morning of October 31, the handover ceremony of the Disaster Preparedness and Response Center in Central Vietnam under the Red Cross Vietnam took place in Da Nang City.
This is the largest warehouse in the country invested by the Vietnam Red Cross, which has the function of reserving relief supplies to timely support disaster and disaster areas in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.

At the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Hong An – Vice President of the Vietnam Red Cross emphasized: “Vietnam is one of the five countries affected by natural disasters, so the disaster response was put on the top priority. Disaster Preparedness and Disaster Relief Center in the Central region was set up to meet the demand for stockpiles to timely help disaster affected areas in particular and the whole country in general. It is hoped that in the near future, the Center in the Central region as well as the whole country will further promote its role in preventing and responding to disasters, ready to provide assistance before and after the disaster, and at the same time, to operate the centers functions as organizing disaster prevention and response; and first aid training in localities and in the region “.
On receiving the instruction, Mr. Tran Si Pha – Acting Director of the Center affirmed that efforts will be made to complete the tasks and functions of the Center in exploiting the warehouse, training for disaster response and archiving. management of relief goods as well as the desire to receive the attention and direction of the Vietnam Red Cross; Da Nang Red Cross and relavant departments of VNRC, HQs and Da Nang city as well as working partners.

The Disaster Prevention and Rescue Center in the Central Region has a total area of over 6,000 m2 with a total investment of 37 billion VND from the state budget, used to store relief supplies of Vietnam Red Cross.
