On November 26, 2018, Former State President Truong Tan Sang, Honorary President of Vietnam Red Cross with his wife visited and presented gifts to poor people in Cao Bang province. The delegation of Vietnam Red Cross accompanied the Former State President were Ms. Tran Thi Hong An, Vice President.

In Tra Linh district, Cao Bang province, the Former State President visited and presented gifts to poor people in Cao Chuong commune, Tra Linh district. This is one of the border communes with many difficulties of the district. Former State President noted the positive changes in the socio-economic of the local, praising the authorities and people of the local ethnic groups who have made many efforts, solidarity, active initiative rising out of poverty. Mr. Truong Tan Sang expressed his pleasure to see changes in Cao Bang and localities every year, many communes have strived to meet the new rural standards of the province.

Former State President stressed that Cao Bang is a mountainous province with difficult conditions, but it has a great advantage for the development of animal husbandry and the cultivation of specialty trees. The Former State President asked local authorities to pay attention to promoting this strength while calling on donors and enterprises to continue supporting Cao Bang poor people with additional economic development.

The Former State President and his wife and the Red Cross leaders donated 300 piglets worth VND1 million each, 300 gifts to poor households and victims of Agent Orange Chemical, each worth 500,000 VND.

On the same day, the Former State President and his delegation visited and attended the inauguration ceremony of Phong Nam Nursery School, Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province. The project was donated by Mr. Truong Tan Sang. Phong Nam Primary School has a total area of 3691m2 including 2 classrooms, 02 toilets, 01 teacher toilet, 01 warehouse, 01 kitchen with total investment cost of the first phase is 1.62 billion VND . After the inauguration and handover ceremony, this place will be the place to receive 77 children to kindergarten attendance. At the inauguration ceremony, pupils were given great gifts by Vietnam Red Cross and donors such as books, notebooks, uniforms … for pupils of school.
