In order to support families affected by the torrential downpour in Khanh Hoa province, on 19 November 2018 the Vietnam Red Cross Headquarters decided to provide emergency relief both in-kind and cash grants. 10 household kits were delivered to 10 families whose houses were damaged. Cash grants of VND 3million were delivered to each family with a member killed; VND 01 million to each person injured; and VND 3 million to families whose houses were collapsed and swept away. The total value of relief operation both in-kind and in cash accounted for VND 106 million.
At the same time, the delegation of Vietnam Red Cross Headquarters led by the President Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu was sent to the affected area to directly visit and deliver relief operation to people affected.
At the local level, Vietnam Red Cross Chapter in Khanh Hoa province has been actively engaged in the operation by deploying its emergency relief team to visit and deliver cash to support families affected (VND 4 billion per death or missing) with total value of 70 million Vietnamese Dong right after the incident occurred. The Vietnam Red Cross Branch in Nha Trang city also provided supports to families whose members were killed or missing with average rate of VND 01 million each case.
