On the evening of January 17th, 2019, Quang Tri Red Cross collaborated with the Quang Tri Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and a number of departments and agencies to organize a live television program “Join the charity arms” in the Spring of the Pig 2019 in Cultural Center of Quang Tri province.
Attending the program were: Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Peoples Council Nguyen Van Hung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Duc Chau; Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial Peoples Committee Nguyen Duc Chinh; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of Peoples Council, Peoples Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province; representatives of departments, agencies, units, localities, organizations, businesses and individuals participated in supporting the program.

This is the 14th time the program has been organized, to mobilize and receive support from agencies, businesses and individuals inside and outside the province to bring many meaningful gifts to the poor. At the program, from the amount of support from benefactors, the provincial leaders gave 20 first gifts directly to the disadvantaged, this is the encouragement to help families welcome a warm Tet.
At the end of the program “Join the charity arms” in spring 2019, the Organizing Committee has mobilized nearly VND 9.3 billion to support particularly difficult circumstances, poor policy preferential households and households with people who are victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in Quang Tri province. After the program, all the money will be sent by the Organizing Committee to the grassroots units to deliver directly to the families before the Lunar New Year.
