Medical examination and free medicine distribution for the poor and Agent Orange victims in Dak Doa district (Gia Lai)

On January 4th, 2019, in Le Chi Parish, Nam Yang Commune, Dak Doa District, Gia Lai Red Cross Chapter organized medical examinations, provided free medicines and gave gifts to poor people, leprosy patients and Agent Orange victims.

In one day, more than 600 people from the above mentioned target groups in Nam Yang commune were examined, prescribed and provided free of charge medicines by members of the medical team and volunteer doctors of Gia Lai Red Cross. In addition to the initial diagnosis on the basis of clinical symptoms some common diseases, detecting groups of high-risk diseases brought to higher levels for treatment, doctors and doctors also advise people how to take care of themselves and their families such as using clean water, eating well to prevent some common diseases.

Also on this occasion, Gia Lai Red Cross handed over 900 gifts (VND 500,000 each) for 900 poor households, Agent Orange victims, policy families in Nam Yang commune. A total of 470 million VND was supported by Vu Thi Le Thuys family (Thach My Loi Ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City).

Free medical examination and gifts on the occasion of Lunar New Year have helped, shared difficulties, partly reduced the costs of treatment for poor households, Agent Orange victims, families policies to contribute to improving peoples health, creating conditions for them to enjoy the Lunar New Year.
