Lam Dong: Offering 50 gifts to poor students who cannot afford to go home to celebrate Tet

On January 24th, 2019, the Lam Dong Red Cross Chapter gave Tet gifts to 50 poor students who could not return to their home to celebrate the Lunar New Year in 2019.

50 poor and difficult students currently studying at universities and colleges in Da Lat city received VND1.1 million each, including gifts and cash.

This is a traditional activity in the movement of “Tet for the poor and victims of Agent Orange” launched by the Vietnam Red Cross, to assist the poor and victims families. Agent Orange victims and ethnic minority people in remote areas and students with special difficulties have made their best efforts in studying, are now having more conditions to welcome the Lunar New Year.

2019 is the second year the provincial Red Cross Chapter awards scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties to celebrate Tet. Funds are mobilized by the Association from companies, units and especially BigC Da Lat Trade Center.
