Kbang (Gia Lai): Offering over 800 gifts to poor people and difficult students

On April 2, at the Kroi village and the Primary and Secondary School of the semi-boarding school in Dak Smar commune (Kbang district, Gia Lai province), Gia Lai Red Cross Chapter in collaboration with Thien Tam Red Cross Association (under the Red Cross of Binh Thanh District) and Charity Groups of Hoa Tim, Mai Thanh, Kiet Pham (Ho Chi Minh City), organized the program “Connecting – sharing – loving” and giving gifts to the poor, children and disadvantaged students in Dak Smar commune, Kbang district, Gia Lai province.

Accordingly, the delegation donated 350 gifts (400,000 VND each) to 350 poor and near poor ethnic minority households in Dak Smar commune, Kbang district and Dak Drang commune, Mang Yang district. Each gift includes: 5kg of rice, 2 boxes of shrimp noodles, 2 liters of cooking oil, monosodium glutamate, 1kg of sugar, blankets, curtains and clothes.

At the same time, 500 gifts (VND 230,000 each) were given to 500 disadvantaged children and students in Dak Smar commune. Each gift includes: 1 new set of clothes, 1 pair of sandals, story books, milk, confectionery and school supplies, accompanied by a lunch, nutritious fruit. In addition, the program also donated 3 million VND to Dinh Thi Nhuong, 6 th grade studying in Primary and Secondary school of Ethnic Minority in Dak Smar commune, Kbang district. The situation of Nhuongs family is very difficult, her mother died, her father was mentally ill, and now 4 sisters have to support each other. The total value of the volunteer program is over VND 258 million, sponsored by Thien Tam Red Cross and the Volunteer Groups.
