Attending the programme were Mr. Duong Nam Khanh, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Red Cross Chapter; representatives of the donor, local authorities, and 95 disadvantaged beneficiary households.<\/span><\/p>\n

The activity forms part of a programme to restore livelihoods and enhance community capacity to cope with risks for flood-affected populations in the province, implemented from January to March 2026. At the programme, households were provided with chickens or fertilizer – livelihood models suited to real-life conditions, contributing to stable income generation and gradually improving living standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to Dien Dien commune, the project has also been carried out in Dien Khanh commune and Tay Nha Trang ward, supporting a total of 200 households, with total funding of more than VND 370 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

Within the programme, a delegation from AEA and Standard Chartered Bank directly visited and provided support to three particularly disadvantaged households, including two engaged in chicken farming and one in crop cultivation, thereby offering timely encouragement and additional motivation for residents to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

Receiving the support, Mr. Tran Van Cuong (Hamlet 1, Dien Dien commune) shared that his family was very happy to receive fertilizer and seeds, considering this a source of motivation to develop production and soon overcome difficulties after the disaster.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc (Nam 3 Hamlet, Dien Dien commune), a member of one of the most vulnerable households, is raising two children on her own. Her eldest daughter is studying at a university in Ho Chi Minh City, while her younger daughter, currently in Grade 1, has undergone surgery for a congenital heart condition. The family mainly relies on livestock, farming, and hired labour. Receiving the chickens for breeding, she emotionally shared that this would be an important source of livelihood, helping the family increase their income, gradually stabilize their lives and support her children\u2019s education.<\/span><\/p>\n

The provision of livelihood support not only meets immediate needs but also aims at long-term impact, enabling residents to proactively develop their household economy and recover after disasters. Through this, the spirit of solidarity and mutual support continues to be spread, while the core role and bridging function of the Red Cross in mobilizing social resources to support vulnerable communities is reaffirmed.<\/span><\/p>\n
