According to the Resolution of the National Election Council announcing the official list of candidates for deputies to the 16th National Assembly by electoral units nationwide, Mdm Do Thi Thu Thao, Member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, is running for election in Dong Thap Province, Electoral Unit No. 2.<\/p>\n

Electoral Unit No. 2 of Dong Thap Province comprises the wards of Cao Lanh, My Tra, and My Ngai, and the communes of Tram Chim, Phu Cuong, Binh Thanh, Phong My, Ba Sao, Phuong Thinh, Truong Xuan, My Tho, Binh Hang Trung, My Quy, My Hiep, Thap Muoi, Thanh My, and Doc Binh Kieu.<\/p>\n

Mdm Do Thi Thu Thao was born in 1975, originally from Vinh Long Province and raised in Ben Tre Province. She holds an Advanced Degree in Political Theory and academic qualifications including a PhD in Political Economy, a Master\u2019s degree in Public Management, and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in English.<\/p>\n

With more than 25 years of service, she rose through the ranks from grassroots Youth Union positions at the commune level and at Chau Thanh District Youth Union in Ben Tre Province. She has held many key leadership positions at both local and central levels, including Secretary of Cho Lach District Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the People\u2019s Council of Ben Tre Province, and Secretary of the Party Committee and Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Women\u2019s Union.<\/p>\n

Currently serving as President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, she and the Society\u2019s leadership have focused on innovating operational methods and effectively implementing humanitarian and social welfare programmes nationwide, thereby reinforcing the Society\u2019s role and standing in the new context.<\/p>\n

Throughout her continuous service across various positions within the political system, she has gained extensive practical experience in Party building, mass mobilization, and organizational management. In recognition of her achievements, she has been awarded the Third-Class Labour Order, two Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, and the title of National Emulation Fighter (2013).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
