Binh Duong: Launching the Day of voluntary blood donation

On the morning of April 2nd, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Binh Duong Province coordinated with the Blood Transfusion Center of Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) to organize the launching ceremony of the day of voluntary blood donation (7/4).

After the launching ceremony, Binh Duong Water - Environment Joint Stock Company in collaboration with the provincial Red Cross Chapter, Cho Ray Hospital Blood Transfusion Center (Ho Chi Minh City) organized the 31st blood donation festival. The theme "Every drop of blood, save a life", the festival attracted more than 250 people who are staff and employees of registered organizations to participate. People who registered to participate were counseled about health, the benefits of blood donation and health screenings. As a result, the Organizing Committee collected 147 blood units. All blood sources were transferred to Cho Ray Hospital Blood Transfusion Center for preservation and transmission to patients in emergency and treatment.

At City Sports Center of Thu Dau Mot, 350 staff, members, volunteers and city armed forces registered to participate in blood donation. Health examination and screening were conducted and 289 units, equivalent to 101.150ml of blood were collected.

Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Truc, Vice Chairwoman of Binh Duong Red Cross Chapter said: “The success of the launch is not only in accomplishing the assigned targets, but more importantly, the people recognized profound humanity through voluntary blood donation movement, thereby, expressing the spirit of solidarity, loving and helping each other in the community. It is a beautiful gesture, sharing voluntary blood drops, bringing health, life and hope to patients. At the same time, contributing to overcoming anemia for the treatment of patients at the current medical facilities.
