On 12-13 January 2019, the Vietnam Red Cross's delegation, led by the Vice President Tran Quoc Hung, accompanied with the charity mission of the Party and State to visit and give Tet gifts to the poor and disadvantaged people in Thanh Hoa and Ha Nam provinces within the framework of the program "Tet for the poor and Agent Orange Victims" Spring of the Pig 2019.
In Thanh Hoa province, the charity mission of the State led by Mr Doan Mau Diep, the Deputy Minister of the Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs met and shared New Year's wishes to people in communes of Hoang Long, Hoang Ly, Hoang Dai, Hoang Anh, Hoang Quang; Tao Xuyen and Ham Rong wards of Thanh Hoa province. Mdm Pham Thi Viet Nga, the Vice Chairwoman of Thanh Hoa City People 's Committee, reported local socio-economic situation, supports of the Party and State to families under preferential treatment policy. Thanh Hoa city consisted of 37 communes, wards; 1.000 poor households; 1.500 nearly poor households. In Tet occassion 2019, Thanh Hoa city received 4 charity missions of the Party and State to distribute Tet gifts to the poor and disadvantaged people.

100 Tet gifts which were given to beneficiaries in 7 communes, wards of Thanh Hoa City by the Vietnam Red Cross were funded by Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Company. Each portion worths 600.000 Vietnamese Dong, including in-kind and 500.000 Vietnamese Dong. On behalf of Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Company, Mr Nguyen Huy Thang, the Deputy General Director said: "The company is very active in humanitarian activities. Its staffs and employees ususally take part in programs, campaigns launched by the Vietnam Red Cross such as voluntary blood donation recruitment; Red Cross houses; emergency relief;etc. In the evening of 12 January, Thanh Hoa City held a festival "Tet full of love" for people in Hoang long commune on the occasion that it was recoganized as a standard commune according to criteria of new countryside development program.

In Ly Nhan and Binh Luc districts, Ha Nam province, the delegation of the Vietnam Red Cross, led by the Vice President Tran Quoc Hung, accompanied with H.E Mr. Mai Tien Dung, the member of the Central Party Committee, the Minister, Head of the Government Office visited and shared New Year 's wishes to people and the poor. In these days before Tet, many inter-communal roads were upgraded with contributions of the States and local people. Together with the Party, the State and Ly Nhan district Bussiness Association, everyone was excited to join hands in order to support the poor and disadvantaged people. Ly Nhan district had 1.934 poor households, equivalent to 3,4% of the population. 100 Tet gifts were distributed by the delegation of Vietnam Red Cross and the Government Office (1.100.000 Vietnamese Dong per portion). All beneficairies, many of whom were elderly, orphans, disabilities, were so excited. The event with music performance was organized by Ly Nhan district People 's Committee at its office. Mme Nguyen Thi Doan, former State Vice President, President of Vietnam Association for Study Promotion joined and sponsored 50 million Vietnamese Dong for the poor and disadvantaged people in Ly Nhan district in Tet program.
Vietnam Red Cross Society, Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Trade Union of the Government Office distributed 100 Tet gifts to the poor and Agent Orange Victims in Binh Luc district (Ha Nam province)
In Binh Luc district of Ha Nam province, the representatives of Vietnam Red Cross together with Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Trade Union of Government Office provided 100 Tet gifts for the poor and Agent Orange Victims (1 million Vietnamese Dong per each gift). The beneficiaries were so moved becaused of compassion of sponsors and people nationwide.
In these days, people nationwide joined hands with Vietnam Red Cross for the Program "Tet for the poor and Agent Orange Victims" with the purpose that poor household enjoy happy Tet in the Spring of the Piggy Year 2019.
